Description
De Kamp Guest Farm is a working sheep farm situated on the edge of Namaqualand, approximately 15 km from Vanrhynsdorp along the R27. Access to the property is via a 3.4 km farm road leading to the main farmhouse. The guest farm is an ideal overnight stop for travellers en route to Namibia or the Kgalagadi, and is a popular destination during Namaqualand’s annual wildflower season.
Accommodation is offered in 4 private self-catering units, comprising 2 units adjoining the main farmhouse, a separate cottage, and a glamping unit situated beside the farm dam.
Tjienkerientjee is an open-plan unit sleeping 2 guests and furnished with a double bed. Vinkel and Koljander accommodate between 2 and 4 guests, and each features an open-plan sleeping area furnished with a double bed, as well as a separate bedroom with 2 single beds. Each unit has a private bathroom, while the second bedroom in Vinkel and Koljander is served by an optional external bathroom.
Bloukalossie is a cosy, modern cottage with an intimate living area, ideal for 2 to 4 guests looking for a peaceful farm stay.
Kolgans, equipped with a double bed, offers caravan-style accommodation for two guests. Avoid the hassle of setting up camp while still enjoying a taste of the camping experience. Kolgans also has convenient bathroom and braai facilities for campers who prefer to bring their own camping equipment. It is a nature lover’s dream, particularly during the winter and spring seasons.
Each unit has a well-equipped kitchenette with the essentials for self-catering, a dining area and a coffee station where guests can enjoy complimentary homemade rusks. Additional amenities include free WiFi, linen, bath towels and fans. Bloukalossie also offers air conditioning. WiFi is available at the lapa near the main farmhouse for guests staying at Kolgans.
Guests have access to private braai facilities and outdoor seating areas, while Tjienkerientjee also offers an outdoor washing-up area. Firewood is available on the property, and Bloukalossie features both an indoor braai and a traditional boma braai.
The surrounding area is renowned for its spectacular spring wildflower displays. De Kamp Guest Farm’s central location makes it an excellent base from which flower enthusiasts can explore Namaqualand, while enjoying the peace and tranquillity of a working sheep farm.
