Blou Porselein Gasteplaas

Dit was 'n plaaskuier met heerlike beddens en donsduvets.

Dit was 'n naweek van storms, maar die eienaar het Saterdagaand laat mense stukkende tente in sy plaasskuur laat kamp. Dankie vir jul harte.

Baie mooi plaas.

Netjiese plaas met mooi staproetes.

Very lovely place.

We loved the place, was beautiful and peaceful. Only downside was that there are a lot of flies, but you can prepare for that prior to your stay by buying lots of Doom and those old school fly traps and limit any unnecessary open doors.

Heerlike plaasvakansie.

Klein jakkelsies wat gepla het is dat die huisie se kombuis nie 100% skoon was nie en die braaigeriewe kort aandag. Met loadshedding was daar ook nie water beskikbaar nie, met aankoms is dit nie genoem nie. Die rivier en natuur het wel opgemaak vir alles.

Very pleasant enriching farm camping experience.

We were the only campers there on our weekend so we had the choice of where to camp on the lovely grass camping site. Everyone involved in running the hospitality business and the farm is very friendly and accommodating. Carel the owner is so unselfish in offering his time to show you around this lovely farm and answer all your "stadsjapie" questions and his son the equally friendly and accommodating Eckhart even offered us a ride on the combine harvester, which is a rare privilege for a city kid. Back to the campsite, lovely green grass, neat showers and a shared kitchen, a place to charge your cellphone. In the daytime, the vistas of the distant mountains over the Swartland farmlands are a balm for the stressed out and at night the distance from the city means beautiful night skies. It's a great place if you need to just get away for a few days from the rat race stimulating but peaceful all the same.

Dis heerlik stil en rustig.

Ons het dit vreeslik geniet. Dis definitief die moeite werd. Sal weer wil gaan, net langer wil bly. Vriendelike mense en diere.

Heel rustig en kalm.

Dit was wonderlik om so bietjie weg te kom ek dank Theresa vir haar gasvryheid ek en my geliefde. Sal enige tyd weer daar na toe kom.

Baie rustig op die plaas.

Daar is min te doen op die plaas. Riebeek Kasteel is gelukkig naby.

Uitstekende diens.

Overnight stay only as part of a longer holiday.

Was slightly disappointed with the cottage. Rusk jar was empty, no salt and pepper, etc. You got the sense that it had not been prepared for visitors. A little run down, but has huge potential, if a few niggly things got fixed. Owners and their dogs very friendly and that was great.

Extremely peaceful.

We had a great and enjoyable stay at the farm. The host took us out to the farmland, showed us the crops and gave us the history of the farm. It was an educational experience for the young ones including the adults. Amazing to see the chickens laying eggs, the wheat crops, the cow feed, the table grapes, springboks running at sunrise and most all swimming and having fun in the dam was a bonus with the tube. Thanks to the host for a special and memorable stay. We will visit soon.

A wonderful 4 days spent at Blou Porselein Guest Farm. Absolutely stunning location with hills and fields stretching out forever. It's like you hear: "The hills are alive, with the sound of music" when you walk down the tracks!

My partner and I slept in Blou Porselein 2, which was very spacious and neat. Very fresh, clean and well prepared. Lots of thoughtful treats like fresh fruit, rusks and tea. Good WiFi and TV too. A lovely antique bath and a huge shower in the bathroom. Lots of pillows, cushions, fleecy throws and a duvet which will take care of any chills on the comfy bed. It is a working farm so it was nice chatting to Theresa's husband about farm activities. They are excellent hosts, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The boss of the farm, Kwagga (the dog) made sure that he had an eye on us. We highly recommend this place to all those looking to get away from the rat race and recharge, or get active along the trails or in the river. Thanks to Theresa and crew for a great stay.

Plaas, platteland, natuur en stilte!

Vars appelkose en blomme verwelkom jou met aankoms. 'n Goeie wegbreek en sentraal geleë al is dit op 'n plaas. Jy kan kies: Gebruik die WiFi of sê daar is niks sein nie.

Very relaxing.

Safe space with the most helpful and friendly visser family to assist with any need. Tranquil and serene atmosphere. Had a blast. Child friendly and had Kwagga who looked after us at night while sitting by the fire. Thank you for being so welcoming.

Fantasties, rustig, lekker.

Die rustic dekor was aangenaam. Kwagga was die beste plaasgids.

Fantastiese wegbreek in 'n beelskone area!

Die plaas is prentjiemooi en 'n uitstekende plek vir 'n vinnige wegbreeknaweek - nie te vêr van Kaapstad af nie. Die plaashuis is goed toegerus en het absoluut alles wat jy nodig het. Daar is genoeg speelplek vir klein kinders, en die rivier is vêr genoeg, dat jy darm 'n oog op hulle kan hou.

Wonderfully peaceful place to stay!

Theresa and her family were amazing hosts! They went our of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable and more. The farm is beautiful and we particularly enjoyed walking on the farm with its spectacular mountain range views. We explored the surrounding area during the day: Olive tasting, visiting excellent coffee shops in Tulbagh and Riebeeck Kasteel, doing various walks, climbing Die Waterval, learning a bit about farming in the area, and the workings of Karel's enormous combine harvester! There would be wine-tasting on farms in the area too when not under lockdown restrictions. Lastly, you must buy some of the farm's fresh eggs "Eggart's" to take home.

Heerlike rustige omgewing en baie vriendelike mense.

Pragtige skoon geriewe. Ons het baie lekker gebly en gerus. Die droë hout vir braai was 'n bonus. Kwagga, die hond, was almal se gunsteling.

Kindervriendelike rustige naweek.

Ons het baie lekker gekuier by Blou Porselein. Dis baie rustig, die huis waarin ons gebly het is baie lekker ingerig en het als wat mens benodig. Lekker fietsryroete gehad wat nie te lank is nie, maar jou darem laat voel of jy die ekstra kosse afgebrand het. Belangrikste was dat ons seuntjie die hele naweek besig was met visvang, "exploring" soos hy dit noem, en rond speel op die plaas. Gelukkig was daar vir hom maatjies gewees. Theresa en haar gesin is baie vriendelik en gaan uit hulle pad om te help waar hulle kan. Sal beslis weer gaan.

Relaxing, budget friendly getaway.

We stayed in the Blou Porselein 2 unit which accommodates two. The large high-ceilinged space is made up of a main bedroom (which features a comfortable double and day bed, ceiling fan and two heaters, television and seating) a spacious bathroom with an amazing old bathtub and roomy shower, as well as a kitchen kitted out with the basics. Outside your door, you’ll find braai facilities and a generous amount of firewood provided by the friendly hosts. Mobile network reception is iffy around the homestead, so the free WiFi was much appreciated. We were offered fresh eggs from the farm chickens, and invited to make use of a little vegetable garden taking shape a short walk down the werf. There is furthermore ample space to walk or mountainbike on or around the farm to take in the beautiful views of the river and mountains. If you do however feel the need to get out, Riebeek-Kasteel and various wine farms are just a stone’s throw away.

Absoluut fantasties.

Wat 'n aangename verrassing. Met ons aankoms het Theresa haar man en hul seun ons ontmoet en dadelik laat tuis voel. Hulle seun het dadelik my kleinkinders onder sy vlerk geneem en hulle rondgevat op die plaas. Saterdagoggend het ek en my kleinseun 'n absolute amazing tyd langs die rivier gehad en hy het 'n paar mooi visse gevang. Ons gaan definitief weer daar kuier.

Ons het ons tyd baie geniet, veral die kinders het die plaas-ondervinding geniet.

Baie dankie aan Schalk en gesin vir al die moeite met die kinders. Ons sal weer kom kuier.

Peaceful.

Although Blou Porselein is a working farm it epitomizes relaxation. Stunning views. Friendly pets, fondly nicknamed Jumbo and Shorty, accompanied us on our walk to explore the farm. The unit was clean and draped in old world charm. Beautiful.

Felt welcome, lovely setting.

Will definitely visit again, lots of fun for kids.

Heerlik.

Dit was regtig 'n heerlike paar dae weg uit die stad en die gejaagde lewe. Ons het die stilte van die plaas werklik geniet. Die grondpad was in 'n goeie toestand en as ons seun gekies word vir volgende jaar se rugbytoer sal ons nie huiwer om weer by Blou Porselein tuis te gaan nie. Vreeslik dankie!

Ruim plaashuis met al die nodige geriewe.

Hierdie is 'n ruim plaashuis wat al die nodige geriewe insluit vir 'n heerlike naweek met kinders en kleinkinders. Dis veilig, daar is speelplek buite vir kinders en 'n braaiplek. Neem asb. Tabbard of Doom saam: die muskiete is volop langs die rivier!

Lekker verblyf op die plaas!

Dis baie lekker plekkie om te bly. Jy kan lekker stap deur die omgewing. Die huisie is netjies en kompleet ingerig. Die mense is baie vriendelik en behulpsaam. Jy sal geniet!
