Nie aan verwagting voldoen nie.

Lawaaierig, ongeveer 30 meter van die middellyn van die besige pad tussen Paarl en Franschoek. Moet hortjies se deure toe hou sodat voetgangers (plaaswerkers) nie in die chalet kan insien nie. Geyser af by aankoms, geen warm water vir meer as twee uur. Gaste toilet met stort maak dit nie 'n badkamer nie. Moes hare en gesig was in kombuis, want badkamer het slegs 'n klein handewasbakkie gehad.

The cottage was not what we expected from the website photos and information; the owners were rude; wedged between R45 within a few metres and precast wall and factory; no views of mountains or anything else of interest.

We booked for 4 nights; stayed for one: even though we did not receive a refund, it was by far the better option in order to rescue our holiday. We were particularly disappointed with the pokiness, stuffy and hot interior, no TV (only Netflix). The cottage is squeezed into an area between the busy R45 with relentless traffic and a factory/warehouse with no views. The owners were unacceptably rude and had no skill in dealing with visitors. Proximity to Franschoek and Stellenbosch is also poor.

It is very unfortunate to get a review like this. We have put so many blood, sweat and tears into making our cottages a home away from home. We have equipped it with the best and made it very comfortable for our guests We have never had a review or complaint like this. We are very open about where we are situated on our profile. All of the guesthouses and cottages in Simondium are situated on the R45.

The Paarl, Simondium and Franschhoek area are known for the heat, and this is not within our control, hence the air-conditioning in our cottages. Personally I think the Netflix that we provide is a big bonus as it has such a wide variety of programs to satisfy all the different interests of our guests.

The mentioning of the rudeness was quite a surprise as I welcomed the guests when they checked in and had a very nice conversation. The next day I only received a phone call from the agent that the guests are checking out. There was no further communication with the guests.
