A Boat House is a beautiful place – a true piece of Eden. The scenery, beautiful vegetation and the gentle lapping of the river create an incredibly peaceful atmosphere. The hostess is very friendly, helpful and made us feel genuinely welcome. Our dog also had a great time playing with her dog. However, the accommodation is more suitable for shorter stays. There were limited self-catering facilities, no wardrobe for clothes and cutlery only for two people, even though we booked for three. The layout also offers little privacy, as there is no door on the teenager’s room. With constant rain, cooking was sometimes challenging, as braaiing is the main option. Despite a few practical inconveniences, we really enjoyed the tranquility and natural surroundings. With a few small improvements, this beautiful place could really stand out.

A Boat House is ’n beeldskone plek – ’n ware stukkie Eden. Die natuurskoon, pragtige plantegroei en die rivier se sagte gekabbel sorg vir ’n ongelooflike rustige atmosfeer. Die gasvrou is baie vriendelik, behulpsaam en het ons opreg welkom laat voel. Ons hondjie het ook heerlik saam met haar hondjie gespeel. Die verblyf is egter meer geskik vir korter kuier. Daar was beperkte self-catering fasiliteite, geen kas vir klere nie en eetgerei slegs vir twee mense, al het ons vir drie bespreek. Die uitleg bied ook min privaatheid, aangesien daar nie ’n deur op die tiener se kamer is nie. Met aanhoudende reën was kosmaak soms uitdagend, aangesien braai die hoof opsie is. Ten spyte van ’n paar praktiese ongemaklikhede het ons die rustigheid en natuurlike omgewing baie geniet. Met ’n paar klein verbeterings kan hierdie pragtige plek werklik uitstaan.
