Firstly, we wish to say that we truly regret the fact that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We acknowledge the problem with the kitchen cupboard door hinge and the rubber ring that fell away on the oven door.
The need for the sewerage truck was greatly regretted and totally unforeseen. This was due to an inappropriate item having gone down another villa toilet, causing a serious blockage. There was no possible alternative action; however, the company that attended was quick and professional. There was no other work per contractors on the complex as the villas were full, and we do not know what you are referring to in that regard.
We have a strict Pet Policy which pet-owning guests acknowledge and sign before arrival. We received no other complaints and do not recall you having asked us to intervene on any occasion, or we would have done so.
The small complex at the top of the village has changed hands, and unfortunately there is currently no store closer than the shopping mall 8 km from the beach.
Noisy beach. Due to the Sea-Shore Act, there are technically no private beaches in South Africa. Incidentally, we had excellent service from the local authority and SAPS (traffic and people control), and the village sponsored additional security services for the period of the festive season when all beaches experience large volumes of visitors. Blythedale has a very long beach in both directions, and it is not difficult to walk away from the busiest areas at peak times.
The siting of our private pool in relation to the various villas is very clearly shown and described on our website, with an aerial pic of the complex in relation to the beach and surrounding properties.
