Short break with family - would definitely recommend. Very peaceful environment. Very nice stay - quiet and peaceful. Good location.

Kort wegbreek saam met gesin - sal beslis aanbeveel. Baie rustige omgewing. Baie lekker gebly - stil en rustig. Goeie ligging.

Definitely would not recommend MiniVillas in Blythedale. We took our daughter and two grandsons on holiday, which turned out to be a really big disappointment. We left a day early and would have left even earlier, but it would have been impossible to find accommodation on short notice. I cannot criticise the owner/manager as she did try to address our concerns regarding the accommodation. A sewerage truck, constant contractors fixing problems at other units, and a very tight car park were some of our concerns. No convenience shop nearby. On our 3rd day, we noticed Checkers delivery bikes in the area, but by then we had already bought groceries from the Kwadukuza Mall, about 10 km from the unit. Although the beach is within walking distance from the unit, it is not private or safe as it is literally right next to a very public and noisy beach. The swimming pool is nice and clean, but you have to cross a public road to get to the pool. Some of the units are pet friendly, but it is not so nice to wake up to barking dogs every morning.

Firstly, we wish to say that we truly regret the fact that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We acknowledge the problem with the kitchen cupboard door hinge and the rubber ring that fell away on the oven door. The need for the sewerage truck was greatly regretted and totally unforeseen. This was due to an inappropriate item having gone down another villa toilet, causing a serious blockage. There was no possible alternative action; however, the company that attended was quick and professional. There was no other work per contractors on the complex as the villas were full, and we do not know what you are referring to in that regard. We have a strict Pet Policy which pet-owning guests acknowledge and sign before arrival. We received no other complaints and do not recall you having asked us to intervene on any occasion, or we would have done so. The small complex at the top of the village has changed hands, and unfortunately there is currently no store closer than the shopping mall 8 km from the beach. Noisy beach. Due to the Sea-Shore Act, there are technically no private beaches in South Africa. Incidentally, we had excellent service from the local authority and SAPS (traffic and people control), and the village sponsored additional security services for the period of the festive season when all beaches experience large volumes of visitors. Blythedale has a very long beach in both directions, and it is not difficult to walk away from the busiest areas at peak times. The siting of our private pool in relation to the various villas is very clearly shown and described on our website, with an aerial pic of the complex in relation to the beach and surrounding properties.
