Quick halfway spot. Good halfway stopover. Was disappointed because the restaurants close to Gariep Dam were for residents of those resorts only. Viewed the dam from the viewing point only. Ate at Tjalatyd - well recommended for a quick dinner after time on the road. Good friendly service. Coming from JHB, I was a bit nervous about the accommodation location. Messaged the host but got no reply about security. All in all, the gate and house could be locked. All turned out okay in the end.
