Aloe Lodge is tucked between 2 rocky hills on Grootfontein Private Reserve and offers a secluded bush retreat for 2 to 4 guests. Surrounded by unspoilt nature and mountain views, the lodge is ideal for guests seeking privacy, tranquillity and a slower pace of life.
The lodge comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms, each furnished with a king-size bed and a shower. The open-plan living area includes a comfortable lounge, dining space and a kitchenette equipped with a bar fridge, stove and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Warm water is supplied via a gas geyser, and Wi-Fi is available. The lodge operates off the grid on solar power and does not offer air conditioning or a microwave.
Outdoor living is a highlight, with a private splash pool overlooking the surrounding bushveld, a cargo net for relaxing and stargazing, and a braai area for evenings under the stars. Guests can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as the bush settles for the night.
Aloe Lodge is fully self-catered, with no restaurant on the reserve. Guests are advised to bring all food and drinks required for their stay, as the nearest shops and restaurants are located in Thabazimbi, approximately a few minutes away. The reserve offers walking trails, mountain biking and self-drive game viewing, as well as guided sundowner game drives that can be arranged during the stay.
