Description

Named after the most famous geographic feature of the Northern Drakensberg in South Africa, Amphitheatre Backpackers Lodge offers overnight and camping accommodation which looks directly onto its facade and on a clear day. After the rains, the Tugela Falls can be seen as it plunges 1 km down the ancient rock face.

This lodge offers a variety of accommodation options such as shared dorm rooms, campsites, private en-suite rooms, group rooms and structured tents. These rooms are either furnished with double beds, single beds or bunk beds. All linen and bath towels are provided.

Some of the rooms have their own bathrooms, while the rest make use of shared ablution facilities. All bathrooms are fitted with showers, washbasins and toilets. Guests also have full access to communal kitchens where they can prepare their own meals if they wish.

Guests have full access to their on-site facilities such as communal braai areas, a swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a sauna, a bar, a restaurant, a pool table, a craft shop, a laundry service as well as vending machines.

Activities in the area include rock climbing, abseiling, summiting mountains, visiting historical battlefields, exploring Lesotho or wandering down to the dams and river to see how many birds and mammals you can spot.
