MAIN HOUSE – ASSEGAI LODGE
Assegai Lodge is a self-catering holiday home nestled in the heart of the Highlands Wilderness Game Reserve near Bela-Bela. It is an excellent option for a family getaway or a group of friends.
The main house features 3 bedrooms with queen-size beds and 2 full bathrooms (one of which is en-suite). All rooms open onto a patio boasting views of the bushveld.
The open-plan living area includes a kitchen, dining area, and lounge. The kitchen comes equipped with a gas stove, oven, fridge-freezer, sink, cutlery, and crockery. A separate scullery/utility room houses a microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, kitchenware, and additional sinks.
The dining area features a large dining table with seating for 8, as well as a kitchen counter with 3 bar stools. The lounge offers comfortable seating with sliding doors that open onto a wooden deck, complete with outdoor seating and a small swimming pool. On the northern side, sliding doors lead out to a boma picnic area featuring built-in seating, an umbrella, a fire pit, and braai facilities. Camping chairs, a fridge, and an ice machine are also available in the storeroom adjacent to the apartment.
SEPARATE APARTMENT – UKUTHULA
This open-plan apartment has a separate entrance and features a queen-size bed, a lounge area, a kitchenette, and a private bathroom with a bath. The apartment can be booked together with the main house or is available separately, provided the main house is not already booked.
ACTIVITIES & THE AREA
Game viewing is permitted in private vehicles, and there are several short routes available for 4x4 enthusiasts. Walking, jogging, and mountain biking are highly popular activities. The rocky ridge alongside the house offers stunning views over the farm and is the perfect spot for morning coffee or late-afternoon sundowners. Guests can look forward to regular visits from the local wildlife. There are various attractions in the area, and the Elements Golf Course is just 3 km from the main entrance of Highlands Wilderness.
