Description
Boshuisies @ De Hoop Cottages offers two self-catering off-grid cabins located on a farm near Robertson. The property is situated at the end of the De Hoop-kloof at the foot of the Langeberg, providing stunning views of the surrounding mountains and nature. Limited cell phone reception ensures a tranquil stay, making the cabins ideal for guests seeking a peaceful countryside retreat. Access to the cabins requires a high-clearance vehicle, and only gas facilities are available as no electricity is supplied. Solar and battery lights are provided in the cabins and ablution block, but guests are advised to bring additional lighting.
Each cabin accommodates 4 guests and comprises one bedroom furnished with a double bed, and an open-plan lounge area with a bunk bed and a cosy fireplace. The kitchenette is equipped with a gas fridge, gas hob, basic cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Bedding and towels are not supplied and are required to be brought by guests.
Private bathroom facilities are provided in a separate ablution block, fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. A communal scullery is also available for washing dishes, and hot water is supplied by gas geysers. Each cabin opens onto a patio with outdoor seating and a braai area, and secure parking is provided on the premises.
Guests can enjoy nature activities such as birdwatching, hiking on the farm or in the kloof to reach clear mountain pools, and swimming in the dams. Alternatively, guests can relax on the deck and take in the tranquil surroundings. The farm is located 10 km from town and approximately a 15-minute drive from local shops and the renowned wine cellars of the valley, providing convenience while maintaining a peaceful off-grid experience.
