Fantastic. We had a fantastic stay. The host was great and answered any enquiries prior to our visit promptly as well as during our stay. The view from the balcony was lovely and the setting was the best. All the facilities were available as advertised and we cannot fault anything with the unit or the hosts. The only negative thing to say about our time in Clarens is that the roads in the village could be a challenge to a normal family sedan as they are mainly gravel, but that is not the host's fault at all.

The sunsets and sunrises are really special with the mountain backdrop. We are working on the roads with the municipality - Van Reenen and Le Roux were graded about 18 months ago, but sadly they haven't maintained them. However, we as a community are striving to improve the situation on all the dirt roads in the village. We have committees who are continually working behind the scenes to get action. Our venue of choice when we travel from the Western Cape to KZN. Cleanliness is a de facto issue for my wife and me. The hosts have ensured that their venue sets a high bar in this area. We have been very frustrated by many self-catering venues not having adequate kitchen utensils available. To our amazement, Clarens had more than enough. What a pleasure it was to see all the various manuals on hand if you needed to work out how to use a particular item. Take the time to buy a permit and a map for the mountain and river walks around the Clarens Conservancy area from Mandy. But more than that, enjoy your afternoon sundowner on the balcony as the last rays kiss Mount Horeb in front of you.
