Cottage on Roux started life over 100 years ago as a barn and has been lovingly converted into a self-contained studio with vintage soul. We’ve kept the original white washed brick walls and character, filled it with vintage decor, antique finds and everything you need for a restful stay.
This is a private self-contained space for 2. Inside you’ll find an open-plan layout with a sleeping nook and antique cast-iron bed, lounge area, dining spot, and a compact kitchenette with mini fridge, kettle, microwave and all essentials. Help yourself to complimentary tea, coffee and amenities.

The separate bathroom has a shower and plenty of character. There’s no TV here — Cottage on Roux is made for unplugging. You’ll have Wi-Fi, portable aircon for hot Free State summersand an electric blanket for chilly winter nights.

The space
You have the entire cottage to yourself with a private entrance and free off-street parking.

The cottage sits in a large, fully fenced garden with mature trees, flower beds and outdoor seating. It’s the perfect spot for morning coffee or a glass of wine under the stars.

The property also includes our Vintage Collectibles Shop which you’re welcome to browse during your stay. Every piece in the cottage was sourced or salvaged with care.

Please note: Due to the cozy size, the cottage is not suitable for children. Well-behaved, house-trained pets are welcome — please message us first so we can prepare for larger breeds.
