The Old House at River Bend is a beautifully restored heritage building, renovated with style while staying true to the charm of historic Graaff-Reinet. The house was one of the original Graaff-Reinet homes, built in the late 1700's. This accommodation used to be called Cypress Cottages.
The accommodation offers 3 options, each private with their own entrances and off-street parking.
The Queen Cottage, The Twin suite and an adjoining flatlet affectionately called "The Klipkamer", are all furnished with comfortable beds and an en-suite bathroom. The rooms offer air-conditioning and electric blankets. Guests can enjoy the braai facilities with outdoor furniture in the garden. The Queen Cottage has a full kitchen. The Twin Suite and Klipkamer have "Heat and Eat" facilities.
Attractions/activities to explore the natural beauty of Camdeboo National Park and the Valley of Desolation, visit historical sites like the Dutch Reformed Mother Church and the Anglo Boer War Memorial, and enjoy cultural attractions such as the Hester Rupert Art Museum and the Jan Rupert Art Centre. Other activities include hiking, game viewing, relaxing by the Nqweba Dam, and visiting the Gideon Scheepers Memorial.
