Situated in the Breede River Valley between Worcester and Villiersdorp, De Goede Hoop Farmstead is located on a working farm where accredited fairtrade wine, pears, apples, watermelons and melons are produced.
The De Goede Hoop Farmstead is a spacious self-catering house that can accommodate up to 8 guests and comprises 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen and lounge. The main bedroom is furnished with a four-poster king-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom that is fitted with a bath, a shower, as well as an outdoor shower for 2 people. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed, and makes use of a bathroom fitted with a shower, and a bath. The third and fourth bedrooms each contain 2 single beds, and share the use of a bathroom that is fitted with a shower, and a toilet.
The modern kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, an electric oven, and a double fridge-freezer, as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities, and meals can be enjoyed at the dining table. A dishwasher, a washing machine, and a tumble dryer are also available for guests to use. Complimentary wine, freshly baked bread, coffee, tea, sugar, butter, jam, rusks and olive oil are provided as well as seasonal fruits.
Guests can relax in the sunny lounge area, or the second lounge area that is equipped with a cosy fireplace and a TV. The living area opens onto an undercover braai area, and guests can also make use of the firepit and Kolkol wood-fired pool overlooking the surroundings. Three complimentary bags of wood are provided, and additional wood can be bought on the farm.
The farm offers walking trails, cycling tours, fishing in the farm dam, and bird watching. Sunset game drives can also be booked on request at an additional cost.
For the wine enthusiast, there are plenty of wineries to visit in the area, such as BC Wines, Eagles Cliff Wine Estate and Aan de Doorns Cellar. The more adventurous guests can visit the nearby Klipbokkop, enjoy a boat ride on the Breede River, or water ski at the Kwaggaskloof Dam.
