Description

The Desert Wind Private Guest and Game Farm is situated in the Klein Karoo between majestic mountains, treeless plains and spectacular landscapes. The area features quaint wine-producing and fruit-growing towns, towering cliffs, clear, crisp rivers and zig-zagging passes. The unique Desert Wind Private Guest and Game Farm is approximately 200 km from Cape Town and 48 km gravel road from Montagu.

All accommodation is self-catering and is served by solar and gas power. There is a large 10-sleeper guest house, a quaint 4-sleeper guest cottage, a delightful 4-sleeper stone cottage, and 2 luxuriously decorated king suites.

There is a picnic and braai area at the boma next to the gorge, as well as a boma next to the Zebra and Springbok units. There is a Wi-Fi hotspot available at reception, reaching all the houses except the Kliphuis. There is a small shop where guests can buy some basics, ice and some souvenirs. Card facilities are available. Firewood can be ordered. All the units, except the Eland house, have wood-fired hot tubs at no additional cost.

Desert Wind boasts a variety of game and wildlife that you can view on the farm or go for a drive to the new watering hole. Game drives can be arranged should you not have a suitable vehicle. You are welcome to bring your mountain bike or just go on foot to explore nature, or just relax in the hot tub while enjoying the scenery.
