Description
Located on the ridge of Rosendal, Die Koeistalle is a carefully restored home with a story as old as the village itself. The open-plan living area, originally a cowshed when Rosendal was still a farm, is one of the oldest buildings in the village. As Rosendal began to grow, the old cowshed was transformed into a brick-making facility where mud bricks were produced and baked for the first houses in the area. Only later was it converted into a home.
Today, the original mud bricks, stone walls, and wooden beams flow seamlessly into the newer extensions of raw brick, a blend of heritage and the present. Die Koeistalle is a place where time moves slower, where the air feels calm, and where the spirit of Rosendal’s history remains quietly present.
Die Koeistalle offers comfort and convenience to guests. The main bedroom features a queen-size bed, and the second bedroom also has a queen-size bed. Both are dressed with cotton bedding and offer ample space for a restful night’s sleep. The shared bathroom has a shower and a bath, with plenty of space for hanging towels.
The open-plan living area is large and spacious, with a comfortable fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher. The large stoep features a braai with a smoker and a big table where guests can relax and socialise.
Guests can easily explore Rosendal, with its charming shops, art gallery, and restaurants.
