Description
Perched on the ridge of Rosendal, Die Koeistalle is a carefully restored home with a story as old as the town itself. The open-plan living area, originally a cowshed when Rosendal was still a farm, is one of the oldest structures in the village. As Rosendal began to grow, the old cowshed was converted into a brick-making facility where mud bricks were made and fired for the first houses in the area. Only later was it transformed into a home.
Today, the original mud bricks, stone walls and wooden beams blend seamlessly with the newer raw-brick extensions – a meeting of heritage and the present. Die Koeistalle is a place where time moves a little slower, where the air feels calm, and where the spirit of Rosendal’s history quietly lingers.
Die Koeistalle offers comfort and convenience for guests. The main bedroom features a queen-size bed, and the second bedroom also has a queen-size bed. Both are dressed in cotton bedding and offer plenty of space for a restful night’s sleep. The shared bathroom includes both a shower and a bath, with ample space for hanging towels.
The open-plan living area is spacious and welcoming, with a comfortable fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher. The large veranda has a braai with a smoker and a big table where guests can relax and socialise.
Guests can easily explore Rosendal, with its charming shops, art galleries, and restaurants, most of which are open mainly on weekends.
