Description
Earth Cottage is situated near the whale coast of Hermanus, in the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, flanking the vineyards of Hamilton Russell. The cottage is tucked away on a smallholding in the valley, and yet it's only about 8 km from Sandbaai Beach. A little tarred road leads right up to the garden gate and off-street parking area; you won't need to travel on any dirt roads. This property has solar electricity and is not affected by load shedding.
This cottage can accommodate up to 2 adult guests and two children. It has 1 bedroom featuring a double bed, and a lounge area with a single bed. The kitchen is equipped with a 2-burner gas stove, microwave oven, kettle, 2-slice toaster, a combination fridge-freezer, washing machine, pits and pans, and cutlery and crockery. Bath towels and linen will be provided. Please bring firewood, charcoal or briquettes if you'd like to braai on the portable braai on the stoep. You will have access to complimentary uncapped Wi-Fi. There is no TV.
Steps lead to the cottage from the parking area. Please note that the steps are uneven and may be challenging for guests who are frail or have special needs. The stairs are well-lit by floodlight, which can be switched on in the cottage. There are one- and two-step stairs inside the cottage as well.
The pleasures of the rest of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, Hermanus, Walker Bay, the lagune and Onrust are just down the road. La Vierge Restaurant is a mere 2 km away. The Plaaskombuis restaurant and grocer and the wine-tasting rooms of both Hamilton Russell Vineyards and Bouchard Findlayson are about a 700-metre walk in different directions.
