Would not recommend. We rented 190 Eden in the Bay for one week. Directly after paying, host agents wanted to charge us an additional 15% security deposit. This seemed duplicitous as they were not upfront about the additional charge. Approaching the unit, it was clear to see that a window was jammed open and not closing. We pointed it out to the agent who brushed our concerns aside, but we were insistent that the unit needed to be secure to protect myself, my wife, and our belongings. Immediately on entering the unit, we discovered the sliding door did not open properly or easily. The handyman forced it open, but for the remainder of our stay, my wife couldn’t open it without my assistance. We were told that we could not exceed an electricity “budget”, but had to beg the agent to add prepaid units to the meter so that we could use electricity. The only plug in the kitchen did not work, so making coffee or tea required moving the kettle to another plug. Other items broken or in need of maintenance in this one-bedroom unit: the kitchen dustbin is broken, the bathroom basin does not hold water, but also manages to drain so slowly that it’s impossible to clean, the kitchen sink does not close properly so you can’t have a sink of water. Both of the above result in wasting water. The kitchen island does not appear to be properly affixed as it wobbles. The safe was locked with no access provided. When we expressed our disappointment to the agent with the condition of the property, he said, “it’s been very popular in the past.” When I asserted that he was dismissing my complaint, he said he’s just telling me that past guests have been happy. Not sure how that’s relevant to my experience. Having stayed at Eden on the Bay previously, we were aware that there’s secure, locked parking available to guests, which is essential because public parking is in short supply during busy times, like weekends. This was not mentioned to us, and we had to insist on being provided access. As business owners, we are happy for individuals and companies to make a profit, but what host agents are doing is putting their profits ahead of the needs of the clients. They are not meeting reasonable expectations of paying guests.

Regarding electricity consumption, the usage policy is also clearly specified in the same section.
