Emden Bass is a charming farmhouse set on a working farm, offering comfortable self-catering accommodation surrounded by the scenic Witteberg, Rooiberg, and Maluti mountain ranges. The property is situated 19 km from Fouriesburg in the Free State, of which 12 km is gravel road, and is a short drive from the Calendonspoort border post to Lesotho. Here, guests can enjoy a relaxing countryside retreat while experiencing the tranquillity of rural farm life and the magnificent mountain views.
Accommodation is available in the Main House, Die Melkstal, and Bass Fishing. The Main House comprises 3 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 6 guests. The bedrooms are furnished with electric blankets and panel heaters, and the bathroom is fitted with a shower and a bath. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave, small stove, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, crockery, and cutlery. A sitting and dining area leads to the outside braai area with a basin, while a swimming pool is also available for guest use.
Die Melkstal is a dormitory-style unit able to accommodate up to 14 guests, making it ideal for large groups of friends or family. The unit is furnished with 14 single beds, and 2 bathrooms are fitted with showers, along with 3 toilets. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering and features a kettle, microwave, stove, toaster, fridge, crockery, and cutlery. A large dining table is provided for group entertainment, while guests can also relax at picnic tables under umbrellas. Braai facilities and gas heaters are available, and an outside area is designated for making a fire.
Bass Fishing offers a camping ground with a communal outdoor kitchen, electricity points, and a bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet.
On-site facilities include a swimming pool for cooling down and a gas hob available on request. Guests can enjoy bass fishing, hiking, cycling, stargazing, or observing the daily farm activities, making Emden Bass a versatile destination for both relaxation and outdoor experiences.
