Description

Evergreen River Guest Farm is a privately owned farm on the banks of the Groot Marico River, 9 km outside the small village of Groot Marico. The property is situated in the UNESCO-approved Marico Biosphere Reserve just a 2,5 hour drive from Gauteng.

Accommodation comprises 3 spacious and fully equipped self-catering cottages. Star Gazer and Le Butterfly are private and each sleeps 6 guests. They are mountain-facing and within 200m of the Groot Marico River. Firefly is a private self-catering cottage, off the grid and sleeps 4 and has a mountain view and is within 40m of the river. Each of these cottages have a private natural rock splash pool.

There is also a camping area at Karee River Camp that accommodates maximum 20 campers. Campers need to bring their own tents/vans and supply their own bedding, cutlery, crockery, etc. See Evergreen Karee River Camp, Groot Marico

Activities in the area include walking, hiking, cycling, canoeing, tubing, mountain biking, star gazing, bird watching, and indigenous tree spotting. Picnic spots are available at the river or at the Groot Marico Eye, 30 km away. The Groot Marico Eye also offers scuba diving, snorkelling, and swimming. Citrus picking is also available on the farm when it is in season.
