Just a little information for you for during your stay:
Our Cabin is tucked away in the Tsitsikamma region and National Park. There is a 6km dirt road leading to the cabin, and conditions can be a bit bumpy depending on the season, so please drive with care. You do pass through a small local village for about 300m before you get to the dirt road.
We recommend arriving during daylight hours, as there are no street lights in the forest and navigating the area can be challenging after dark.

We are located 25 km from the beaches of Plettenberg Bay and 20 km from Nature’s Valley. The nearest shop is just 6 km from the house. There are several nearby attractions to enjoy, as well as The Peppermill Restaurant, which is a lovely spot for a meal.
This is a self check in and check out venue. We have a lock box for the sets of keys. You’ll find them mounted on the wall on the deck. You’ll be sent the lock box code 48hrs before arrival date. The main house and the cottage are considered one unit. The main house sleeps 4 and the cottage sleeps 2. They are not rented out separately.
PARKING:
There’s enough space for 3 cars. Just watch out for the trees as we are in the forest
Please only park your car in the designated parking spot, which is marked by pebble/gravel stones made ideal for your vehicle. This is beside the shed. Be careful of the trees when reversing out. Once you get the hang of it, then it's easy. You come out the same way you went in. Please do not park closer to the house as it will cause damage to the garden.
DRINKING WATER:
The tanks are filled with rain water. This water is clean, pure and drinkable. But if you prefer we recommend you bring your own bottled water for drinking and cooking.
WATER SUPPLY:
There are 2 supplies of water - Dam water and water tanks. Should there be no electricity or the water tanks are empty you need to switch the flow around. Please don’t drink the dam water.
SHOWER:
An important note for the house for those who are not used to gas geysers: we have a gas geyser in the house because it also works during loadshedding. Unlike an electric geyser, it doesn't happen immediately. Especially in winter the pipes take a little longer to heat up.
Hot Tub is used at your own risk: - CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE DUE TO THE DROUGHT ON GARDEN ROUTE
1. Please take care when the fire is hot to not touch any of the steel structures where the fire is burning (chimney & fire box).
2. With the size of the tub the fire needs to be burning for 2hrs before the water will be heated.
3. Make sure that the fire you make is burning with flames - a smoldering fire will not heat the water.
4. You’ll find wood for the fire next to the storage hut.
We have water delivered to fill both the water tanks and the hot tub. Please be mindful of the area’s water restrictions and help us conserve water wherever possible. Kindly avoid draining the hot tub or taking extra long showers. Please bring along your own drinking water if possible.
To ensure a restful and enjoyable experience for everyone, we kindly ask that you keep noise to a minimum during your stay—especially between (8pm and 8am) which are our designated quiet hours.
Our Forest Retreat is a place of peace and tranquility, and we hope to maintain a calm environment for all guests and neighbors to enjoy nature’s serenity.
Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation!

Description
This cottage features two bedrooms and comfortably sleeps up to four adults. There is a large spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, and a 2nd room with a double bed, which opens directly onto the deck through double glass doors, offering beautiful views and fresh forest air. None of the beds can be split into single beds. Cots/camp cots are not provided for infants, please bring along your own. A third room serves as an office with a large desk and open-plan flow into the lounge, providing flexibility for work, if necessary. While it doesn’t have a door, it still offers comfort and privacy. This cottage has a full functional kitchen. The living and dining room of the main house are furnished with beautifully crafted hardwood pieces, creating a warm and inviting space to relax, share meals, and enjoy good conversation and laughter around the table. The L shape corner couch is positioned to enjoy star views through the high windows that go all the way up to the ceiling. The shower has a sliding glass door that can take you out of the house and not only provides a spectacular view of the forest, but also the feeling of showering outside or the choice of being inside if you close the door. Due to the architectural design of the house intended to capture day and night forest views, starry nights, sunsets and sunrises there are no curtains or blinds in the house. The cottage is completely private and secluded. We provide eye masks for sleeping comfort. The large 42m2 low deck has beautiful views of many trees right in our garden and brilliant views of the dense hillsides too, as well as the Outeniqua mountain range and Formosa Peak. The newly landscaping has been thoughtfully crafted to enhance the natural forest feel, with winding paths, indigenous plants, and shaded spaces - making the outdoor space even more lush, vibrant, and inviting.
