A wonderful stay and will recommend the cottage to anyone without any doubt. An absolutely wonderful place to get away and experience the natural surroundings on a farm. The cottage had everything available needed for a couple of days, well worth the money indeed. Outside it was cold and yet, inside warm and cozy.

We quickly escaped the city one night. I would definitely recommend Ganzekraal Farm Cottage. It was good for the soul. We were able to take Austin (our special needs dog) with us and he enjoyed it more than we did. 100% worth the effort and money.

Very neat and nice view, mentioned a few items that were not available. The house is very nice, clean and stylishly furnished with everything you need. There was a wide variety of nice board games that we enjoyed. The braai on the stoep with the view of the mountains is special at sunset, and the stoep was well sheltered from the wind. The Wi-Fi was not the best and unfortunately barely worked. The dam there has two signs on it saying that you are not allowed to swim, although it indicates on the website that you can swim there. Right above the table on the stoep, the birds are nesting and making a lot of mess on the table. It looked like the table had not been cleaned before we got there, and we would suggest that the stoep be cleaned one last time before guests arrive where the birds are messing. The other suggestion we have is to just rinse out the canoe that is available and make sure it is ready for guests to use. We had to clean the stoep table, stoep benches and canoe ourselves. We love to explore the areas we visit, but we were asked, after discussion, not to drive on the roads, as it damages the gravel road. There are also a lot of ants, which makes it unpleasant (for us and our dogs) as soon as you step off the porch. This made it difficult to play with our grandchild on the grass and we were pretty much confined to the house and the porch. Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to share your experience. We truly appreciate it. As we are situated on a working farm, nature is very much part of the environment. During this time of year, ants are quite common. They tend to appear and then disappear again, and because the cottage is pet-friendly, we choose not to use poison in order to keep the space safe for all animals. The stoep is cleaned weekly, but with birds coming and going daily, they do sometimes leave a bit of a mess between cleans. We will certainly look at ways to improve this and ensure an extra check before guest arrivals where possible. Our Wi-Fi is normally very strong; however, being on a farm, the signal can occasionally be disrupted during very cloudy weather. Regarding the roads, we experienced significant rainfall after a very dry period, which unfortunately made them muddy at the time. The mud has since dried and conditions have improved. We value all constructive feedback and will continue working on ways to enhance our guests’ experience. Thank you again for staying with us.

Hidden gem, peaceful and well located. Excellent! Great location, peaceful yet close enough to Greyton and McGregor to explore the area. Well-equipped cottage.

Great stay; well organised. Only problem was we could not find anything when there were power cuts and there was some issue with the sewerage - the manhole outside started overflowing.
