Outstanding accommodation in the beautiful Karkloof - bird paradise! We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful river cottage. The house's finish and fittings were of excellent quality. The owners are very friendly and gave us good advice on where to see the birds we were looking for. If you are a birdwatcher, this is an ideal place to stay with two bird shelters where you can see all three of our cranes right on the farm. For anyone just looking for peace and quiet, the cottage with its beautiful views of the Karkloof River is also an ideal place. The area is also very safe with good security. We will come again if we are in the area!

Peaceful, quiet and really worth it! As a family we booked the Crane Cottage for a few days. Even though it was the middle of winter, it was so worth it to stay there. The fireplace was a big bonus! The cottage is nicely furnished with everything you need. So quiet and nice to stay on the farm. Beautiful surroundings. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and would stay there again myself.

Book now. You won't regret it! It was perfection in every way. The cottage was utterly gorgeous with magical views. The indoor fireplace kept us beautifully cosy and my partner even enjoyed the outdoor shower. There were some lovely walks around the farm and to the bird hides, and if you mountain bike, then it's a dream being 3 km away from the Karkloof Trails. Bron was the best host ever. Kind and considerate, and eager to help us when we had car troubles. Definitely one of the best places we have stayed.

Great beds and linen, lovely walks to the Crane Sanctuary on the property. Lovely stay - great beds and lots of wood for a roaring fire in the lounge. The only drawback was that some of the doorways were very low (the original building was old) and that is only relevant for the very tall - over 6 feet among us.

Cosy cottage with beautiful views. Cosy cottage in a beautiful, convenient setting. Views were phenomenal and loved the peace and quiet. Added bonus of the bird hides and Karkloof conservancy being on the farm, a bird lover's paradise. Cottage was clean with modern furnishings. Host was very helpful in giving directions and assisting where required. Perfect for a short stay to explore the Midlands. Highly recommend.
