Gazania Cottage is a self-catering unit launched in April 2025. It is located in the quiet nature conservation village of Blue Horizon Bay and offers sea views and indigenous surroundings, ideal for a coastal retreat.
The freestanding cottage accommodates 4 guests in 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, while the second bedroom contains 2 single beds. The shared bathroom is fitted with a shower, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the unit.
The open-plan living area includes a comfortable lounge with a TV, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge-freezer, gas stove, oven, microwave, washing machine, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and a Nespresso machine. The deck offers sea views and a braai area for outdoor dining. Secure on-site parking is provided.
Guests can enjoy the natural setting with views of dolphins year-round and whale sightings during winter and spring. The area is home to a variety of birdlife, including the Knysna loerie. The white sandy beach is a 3-minute drive away, with shops and restaurants nearby, making this an ideal base for a tranquil coastal stay.
For those who like to venture out, some wonderful day trips include:
-The Addo Elephant National Park the third-largest national park, is not only home to the African Big Five, but the Big 7, which includes the Southern right whale and Great white shark in its marine environment.
-Tsitsikamma National Park and forest (offering hiking trails with spectacular views of the Indian ocean, canoeing in the river mouth, tree canopy tours and much more)
Bloukrans bridge Bungee Jumping (the world’s highest commercial bridge bungee jump)
-African Dawn wildlife sanctuary
-Port St Francis Harbour with restaurants and shops (fishing boat trips are available)
-St Francis Bay light house with restaurant
-Jeffrey Bay (offers water parks with water slides for children, put-putt, sky-diving, and
surfing lessons for those who wish to surf in 'the surfing capital' of the world.
-Baviaans Kloof Wilderness Area and heritage site (popular activities include 4x4 driving, hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, star gazing, and game viewing)
-Diving trips and ocean boat rides can be enjoyed in Port Elizabeth.
