Ghost Mountain Retreat is located on a game farm in the Champagne Valley of the Central Drakensberg, a World Heritage Area in KwaZulu-Natal. Guests are offered a charming self-catering cottage with breathtaking mountain views, ensuring an unforgettable stay. The property is situated in a private game reserve and provides a safe, peaceful, private, and highly exclusive environment. Access to the retreat is via a good tar road, with only the last 1 km being a well-maintained gravel road. Drakensberg Ghost Mountain Retreat is conveniently close to top restaurants, adventure activities, attractions, and popular hiking trails in the World Heritage Area.
The cottage accommodates up to 2 adults and 2 children and consists of 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The first bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, built-in cupboards, and a dressing table, while the second bedroom has a bunk bed and built-in cupboards. Both bedrooms share a bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. All linen and bath towels are provided; however, guests are required to bring their own swimming towels.
The open-plan living area includes a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge-freezer, induction hob, microwave, essential cutlery and crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Adjacent to the kitchen, the lounge offers ample comfortable seating for 4, a coffee table, a dining table with seating for 3, and a TV with OpenView channels. Free WiFi is available on request.
Outside, the cottage features a covered patio with a built-in braai and a 4-seater picnic table, providing the perfect setting for al fresco dining while enjoying the tranquil surroundings. The cottage is located on a game farm, where tame wildlife can often be seen grazing near the patio. Guests are welcome to explore the farm on foot and take in the beautiful natural scenery.
Game drives are available at a minimal cost, both during the day and at night, on a modern, quiet electric golf cart, offering a unique nature experience. Guests can also enjoy a large solar-heated swimming pool with stunning views of the Central Drakensberg. Secure parking is provided.
