Hippo’s Honk @ Kruger is a luxurious double-storey self-catering holiday home situated in Marloth Park, approximately 40 m from the Kruger National Park boundary fence. The Krokodilbrug Gate into the Kruger National Park is approximately 14 km away, making this an ideal base for guests wanting to experience the Lowveld bushveld and surrounding wildlife. The property is equipped with full solar power, and all interior windows are tinted to help reduce heat.
The house accommodates up to 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The main upstairs bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, washbasin, and toilet. The second bedroom contains a double bed and uses a separate bathroom fitted with a shower, washbasin, and toilet. The third bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed and features an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, washbasin, and toilet. An additional outdoor shower and toilet are also available.
All bedrooms and living areas are equipped with energy-efficient inverters, prepaid air conditioning units, and fans. Quality linen and bath towels are provided.
The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with 2 fridges, a gas stove, electric oven, microwave, air fryer, toaster, kettle, crockery, and cutlery. A separate scullery is available; however, no dishwasher or washing machine is provided. The dining area seats 6 guests, while the lounge offers comfortable seating and a flat-screen TV with Netflix and YouTube.
The living area opens onto a patio with an infinity pool and a spacious braai boma with a large firepit. The upstairs balcony features additional covered braai facilities, a dining table seating 6 guests, and a swing bench.
Additional facilities include free Wi-Fi, effective insect screens on doors and windows, 2 wildlife feeding bowls, and secure on-site parking.
Marloth Park offers guests the opportunity to experience wildlife up close, with animals such as zebras, giraffes, kudus, blue wildebeest, impalas, bushbuck, warthogs, and mongooses often seen roaming freely throughout the area. Activities nearby include game drives, bush walks, cycling, and day trips into the Kruger National Park via the Krokodilbrug Gate. Several restaurants are also available in Marloth Park.
