Hornbill House is in the small village of Hemel en Aarde between Hermanus and Onrus (Western Cape, South Africa). Hornbill House has 4 self-catering accommodation options as well as a ceramic studio, gift shop, an art gallery and a restaurant, making it a bountiful place to visit.
There are 4 Apartments for guests to choose from; Jono, Cara, Garden and Family. Both the Jono and Cara apartments are on the first floor, sleeping 2 guests each. The Garden apartment on the ground floor can accommodate up to 4 guests and the Family apartment on the first floor can accommodate up to 6 guests, on prior arrangement. The units have private bathrooms with showers only as well as lounge areas and kitchenettes ideal for self-catering.
Apartment JONO (unit1) & Apartment CARA (2) has a communal uncovered BBQ area and street side parking on the Drive Way.
Apartment GARDEN (3) has a private BBQ area on the covered terrace with parking behind closed gate.
Apartment FAMILY (4) has an indoor BBQ with parking behind closed gate.
Guests are able to watch the artists at work in the ceramic studio or spend some time browsing the art gallery and gift shop. Hornbill creates their own wines in a true garagiste tradition making them abundant in flavours.
The hornbill house restaurant, SOURCE, is a superb option where guests can enjoy a meal with some of their local wine. There are a total of 4 well-established restaurants in the area, all within walking distance from the establishment.
The village is well situated to access all the major attractions the region has to offer, halfway between Onrus River and Hermanus, at the entrance to the Hemel en Aarde Valley with its magnificent wineries.
