A place where you will be received with old fashioned hospitality and leave as part of the family. When you come, come hungry as our cuisine is inspired by farm living and we make use of only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients (our meat comes from our own fields) and our portions are designed for hard working men. So escape the city to find some peace and come home to the nostalgia of good living and slow food.

Guests are welcome to take part in the day to day of farm life with activities such as cattle and sheep counts, dam fishing and mountain hikes. The area is also great for adventure bikes, mountain bikes, trail runs and 4x4. Horseshoe Farm is a mere 4 hour drive from Durban or Johannesburg - and about 30 minutes from Newcastle. With a passion for personal service and quality, Horseshoe Farm is the perfect place for a getaway, wedding, group retreat or conference.

Horseshoe Farm is the ideal venue for your unpretentious yet stylish wedding celebration. The beautiful garden overlooks a dam and rolling Drakensberg landscape and is perfect backdrop for gorgeous memories to be captured. We have a wedding chapel and reception hall for up to 120 guests or you can opt for an garden wedding and make use of our nomad style tent.

All our garden rooms are en-suite with a shower and have the basics for a comfortable stay in a rustic farm environment.
Rooms 1 - 4 have 3 built in single beds and are perfect for kids or groups of friends sharing.
Room 5 has a double bed and two singles perfect for a family with small kids.
Rooms 6 - 9 have 4 single beds and are perfect for kids of groups sharing.
Room 10 is our honeymoon suite and has it's own balcony overlooking the small dam on the property.

Pleasant stay with friendly service. Horseshoe Farm is beautifully situated in the mountains near Normandie. Despite a lot of rain, the dirt road was no problem. Our guest room was very comfortable and clean, but unfortunately we did not have a private bathroom/shower. The breakfast was very tasty and the service friendly. I would definitely recommend Horseshoe for family gatherings. The garden is beautiful and large with a nice lapa and offers plenty of play space and the living areas are spacious and comfortable.
