Easy, clean, comfortable. We were very impressed with 'If Not Why Not Guesthouse'. We loved the breakfast and the warm rooms. Wish we could've stayed a bit longer than just one night, have already recommended to others.

Will definitely stay here again! We had such a lovely stay! The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, and the rooms were spotless and refreshed every day. The air-conditioning and comfortable bedding made it easy to unwind after a long day. The staff were genuinely warm and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety — though the breakfast would have been even better if it didn’t need reheating. Overall, a wonderful and welcoming experience — highly recommended!

Cold and uncomfortable. The place is neat at first glance and the breakfast was very nice although most of their cereal dispensers are broken. I would like them to advertise if there are stairs to the rooms, my husband has knee problems and we were a bit caught off guard. The taps were full of limescale and there were dilapidated parts/unfinished plasterwork everywhere on the walls. There was also no power at all on our plugs, never mind our phones that couldn't charge, the aircon didn't work either. My husband and I both got terribly cold all night long. We also wanted to take a bath/shower after a long day but there was no hot water which is very inconvenient for the middle of winter. The bath is very nice and everything, but it is a big safety risk, build stairs or something.

Not what I expected after reading past reviews. Everything was clean. We booked 2 rooms, which were situated at opposite sides of the guest house. The chairs in the room were very worn. Breakfast was disappointing - no coffee or tea available.

The management and staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We made a booking at If Not Why Not Guesthouse for September 2025. We stayed at this exact guesthouse one year ago. Due to a water pipe that burst, the host accommodated us in her own house due to the fact that all the guesthouses in Potchefstroom were fully booked. She went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I will return to If Not Why Not next year.
