Island Retreat Luxury Getaway is a waterfront self-catering home situated on Hammock Island on Thesen Island in Knysna. This exceptional home offers a tranquil setting for a relaxing holiday while enjoying beautiful lagoon views.
The home accommodates 6 guests in 3 bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. The first bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, and the en-suite bathroom is fitted with a bath, shower, toilet, and basin. The 2 remaining bedrooms are each furnished with 2 single beds, and each en-suite bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet, and basin.
The Sybaris kitchen is fully fitted for self-catering and includes a stove with gas and induction cooking, an oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, and cutlery and crockery. The kitchen flows into the dining area and living space, which offers comfortable seating and a built-in braai area for entertaining. A covered patio with frameless glass doors allows guests to enjoy the space throughout the year. The living area opens onto spacious outdoor entertainment areas and an expansive sun deck that leads down to a gazebo positioned on the water’s edge, as well as a private jetty where boats and water toys can be stored.
Additional features include a temperature-controlled wine cellar, wooden floors, plantation shutters, and a double-sided fireplace for the cooler winter months. Guests can enjoy the peaceful lagoon lifestyle while still being within easy reach of Knysna’s attractions, including the annual Knysna Oyster Festival.
