Description
Kalkgat Avontuur Farm sits quietly in the Hantam region, just 7 km outside Calvinia, where guests can enjoy a peaceful farm setting with plenty of activities to fill their days. The property offers a simple and comfortable stay, whether guests choose a room in the farmhouse or a camping spot near the dam.
The camping spots are set a short distance from the house and the dam. Campers make use of an ablution area with a shower and a separate toilet. Electricity can be supplied on request, and braai spots are available for guests. Each camper brings and pitches their own tent, and vehicles fitted with roof tents are welcome.
Wood and ice can be arranged through the host. The farm runs on solar power, with a generator available as backup, as there is no Eskom connection.
Kalkgat Avontuur Farm invites guests to enjoy the wide-open spaces with walks, hikes, mountain biking, quad biking at an additional cost, picnics, sunset and sunrise viewing, braais under the night stars, and swimming in the dam when conditions allow. Guests may bring their own bikes or quads. Those visiting during flower season experience the Hantam at its most vibrant, when the landscape transforms with thousands of colourful blooms.
