Description
Klipkraal is an authentic romantic Klein Karoo unit dating back to days gone by, offering an ideal getaway for guests wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of city life in the Groenfontein Valley.
The cottage accommodates 2 guests and is furnished with a queen-size bed. It leads to a bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, basin, and toilet. An outdoor bath and shower are also available under the Karoo stars, with the Swartberge mountains forming a dramatic backdrop. Linen and towels are provided.
The cottage was originally an old kraal and later used as an ostrich store. With walls thicker than an arm’s length, poplar beams, and a thatched roof, the unit exudes nostalgia, enhanced by paraffin lamps and candles. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a gas stove, oven, fridge-freezer, cutlery, and crockery. The cottage has no mobile reception or electricity, although Wi-Fi is available.
The surrounding area is rich in birdlife and ideal for nature and outdoor enthusiasts. The location offers mountain biking and hiking trails for kilometres in any direction.
