Merweville is a peaceful village ideal for a slow getaway. The town has a general store for essentials, a butcher well known for quality Karoo lamb, two restaurants, and a bottle store, all within easy reach or walking distance of the cottage.
The cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests and consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a small kitchen, and a comfortable lounge area. The main bedroom is furnished with a double bed, while the second bedroom contains two single beds. The bathroom, accessed from the kitchen, is fitted with a shower, toilet, and washbasin.
The kitchen is equipped for self-catering and includes a fridge-freezer, a 2-plate gas hob, a wood-burning Aga stove, as well as crockery and cutlery. The lounge is furnished with delicate antique furniture, adding to the cottage’s warm and nostalgic atmosphere.
The lounge opens onto the front patio, a lovely space to sit and enjoy the sunset. From the kitchen, guests step out onto the main patio, which is directly linked to the shaded parking bay. This patio serves as the primary outdoor living area and features a braai, outdoor dining furniture, and outdoor daybeds for stargazing. A fire pit completes the space, making it ideal for relaxed Karoo evenings under the stars.
The garden offers uninterrupted views of the vast Karoo sky, providing excellent opportunities for stargazing, with frequent sightings of shooting stars on clear nights.
The property is managed by Samson, who lives on the premises and is available should guests need assistance during their stay.
