Description
Kweekkraal Guest Farm is situated 8.2 km west of Riversdale, at the gateway to the Garden Route on the Southern Coast of Africa. The farm forms part of a conservation area, and the historic main house dates back to 1880.
This is a working farm where sheep and cattle graze on cultivated oats and lucerne pastures, while crops such as canola, wheat, and barley are also produced. The accommodation consists of nine units that have been lovingly renovated and equipped by the owners, Pieter and Sandra van Wyk.
Five two-bedroom cottages overlook a farm dam, surrounded by eucalyptus trees and grain fields. Each cottage features a bedroom with a double bed, a second bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with a shower, a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge and dining area, and a patio with braai facilities. Wi-Fi is available only in the reception area.
The one-bedroom cottages are located around the swimming pool and braai area. One unit has a double bed, while the other two have two single beds. Each cottage includes a fully equipped kitchen and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower.
There is also a rustic stone cottage offering a unique off-grid experience. It can accommodate up to 8 guests and has two bedrooms, each furnished with a double bed and bunk beds. The cottage has one shared bathroom with a shower. Lighting is powered by solar energy, while hot water and cooking are gas-operated. The open-plan lounge and kitchen area includes a large fireplace and a braai. A wooden deck provides beautiful views of the dam and the surrounding indigenous bush, which is rich in birdlife. Please note that this unit does not have a TV or fridge.
For added convenience, guests can purchase locally produced meat, braai packs, fresh salads (such as Greek and Italian), firewood, and soft drinks.
The farm also offers conferencing facilities that can accommodate up to 95 delegates.
Activities on the farm include hiking, birdwatching, and swimming or relaxing around the pool.
Kweekkraal Guest Farm is set in beautiful surroundings at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains and is ideal for families and corporate travellers seeking a safe, affordable, and comfortable farm stay. Guests are invited to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the great outdoors.
