Run away! Not worth the drama! Personally, I would give this place an overall rating of 1 star (and that's just for the cleaning staff, who were super friendly and really tried to make the stay pleasant). Other than that, stay away from this place if you want order. I booked and paid for my 2-week stay a few weeks in advance. When I arrived, I was told that there was no room (the cleaning lady was there as the host was in hospital – she had not been informed by the host that I was coming, even though he was communicating with her from hospital). Anyway, after a frustrating conversation, I was put in a room – not the en-suite room I paid for, but a room where I had to share a bathroom with other guests. I was told that it was only for the first 2 nights, then I could go into my actual room. I wasn't happy, but whatever. I just wanted a place to sleep. That first night (a Friday night), the other group of guests were partying. Not just a bit of music, drinks, and socialising, but all-out PARTYING. Huge speakers blared loud music right outside my window. Shouting and screaming. Just no respect at all. Some guests even asked them to turn it down a bit, but they weren't bothered and even got into an argument. I don't even blame those guests because it seemed like they thought they'd have the place to themselves. Regardless, it was a horrible first night. The next night was quieter, but only because another guest called the cops on the loud guests. I finally moved into my en-suite room on Sunday, and the next few days were actually peaceful, probably because it was during the week. The following weekend (2nd Friday), a new group of guests arrived. It seems like there was another booking issue, because beds and mattresses were put in the living area – an open, public area – right outside my room. I was so shocked because that's just not appropriate to have people sleeping in full view of other guests. Plus, it was a group of mostly grown men. As a woman, this was a very uncomfortable setup. Anyway, these guests were even worse than the previous ones. Loud music and partying right outside my door, but even louder – the windows were even rattling. I was awake ALL night, as the group only settled down around 5 a.m. the next morning. I was exhausted! I texted the host to tell him what was going on and asked him to get them in line. He apologised and said he asked them to behave or he'd call the cops. Then, a few hours after that, the host called me to apologise again and said he asked those guests to leave as other guests had also complained. But then he asked me to do him a favour – he had a group of 5 or so guests coming that afternoon and he needed my bigger room, so he asked me to move to a room that had the shared bathroom situation. He said the room I was in could accommodate 4–5 people, and I was only one person. Also, I was getting the room at a very affordable rate, so could I please do him this favour? I've never heard such nonsense in my life! I refused and told him it wasn't my problem that his rooms were priced a certain way. I was also adamant that I didn't want a room without an en-suite, as that is what I booked for. A few minutes later, he called me back and said he had made a plan, and I could move into another room that had an en-suite. I moved to the other room. The guests that arrived that afternoon came to party, but they were far better than the others – a bit respectful and not over the top with the noise levels. They left the next morning. Later that day, I spoke to another guest. It turns out that the host had convinced this guest to move out of her room to accommodate me. What a joke! I was actually so upset that he had caused discomfort and inconvenience to another guest, even if it was for me. Such audacity! So now I was on my last week. Again, pretty quiet on weekdays. However, throughout my entire stay, there were multiple stories of guests arriving – after booking and paying – only to be told that there was no room. Constant stories of guests being moved around due to overbooking. Guests even sleeping on the floor in the living areas. On my last Friday, I heard from another guest that a large group of people were at the gate (apparently over 40 people from different groups who had all paid), and there was no room for them. The cleaning staff were instructed by the host (who was still in hospital) to keep the gate locked. Apparently, they were outside for hours with all their bags trying to get answers. As expected, many got angry. Even a guest who was already in a room couldn't get into the property. I believe that this group eventually somehow got refunds (but I'm not sure). They would then have had to find other accommodation, something that they shouldn't have had to deal with. Honestly, I would never recommend this place to anyone. The property is actually quite nice, but the drama with bookings is beyond bizarre. Plus, the fact that guests are moved around like chess pieces is crazy. Save yourself the trauma and rather pay a bit more for order and peace of mind.
