Description
Makwassie Oornag Karavaan & Kampterrein is centrally located on the route between the North of South Africa and the South and West Coast. It offers an overnight camping area where visitors can enjoy the peaceful countryside and be awakened by the songs of hundreds of bird species in Makwassie.
The campsite provides electricity and water, and a braai can be arranged on request. Although there is no cement flooring, guests can camp on a clean, level surface of grass or soil. There are no formal shelters, but the area is shaded by trees, creating a pleasant outdoor setting. The ablution facilities are cowboy-style, simple, clean, and comfortable, and fitted with showers and toilets.
The camping sites are spacious, with plenty of room to turn and park even the largest caravans. Campers can feel safe and comfortable, with a campsite manager available 24/7.
Small dogs are welcome. The site is home to 2 Yorkies and a poodle that greet visiting pets. All animals must be healthy, vaccinated, and kept under the owner’s supervision.
The farm atmosphere is enhanced by cattle grazing nearby and a rooster that may crow at dawn as the sun rises over the charming town, surrounded by camel thorn trees and red sand.
