Description
Matopos Cabin is a rustic rock-and-wood cabin set within a wild syringa forest on the 600-hectare Grootfontein Private Nature Reserve, 3 hours from Gauteng. Surrounded by bushveld and mountains, it is ideal for guests seeking peace and nature. High-clearance vehicles are recommended.
The cabin accommodates 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, and the second bathroom, also with a shower, is shared. Warm water is supplied via a gas geyser, and Wi-Fi is available.
The open-plan living area has a lounge, dining table, and kitchenette with a bar fridge, stove, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Braai facilities are provided, and guests can enjoy the splash pool or wood-fired hot tub.
Outside, guests can relax in the splash pool while enjoying the mountain views or gather around the fire for a braai under the stars. The reserve offers opportunities for walking, mountain biking, and self-drive game drives, allowing visitors to explore the rich diversity of animals, birdlife, and indigenous flora.
