Decent-ish. It was a decent stay. The problem is the power was out and the road leading to the accommodation had a "Road closed" sign, leaving me to have to drive and find out why and hoping I could get to the destination. The staff on site keeping the hot tub and fireplaces going saved most of the weekend, but if not for them it would have been a complete waste.

Secret paradise. We stumbled across McBains whilst hiking a few weeks ago and I immediately booked a cabin for December - we did not regret it. The cabin itself was perfect - filled with good books, white linen, and mountain views. I actually didn't know about the outdoor shower and bath, but bathing under the stars on the edge of the world and under the shadow of the mountain was probably my favourite part of the stay. Loads of fantastic hikes and rock pools nearby; we spent days hiking, swimming, reading, eating, and napping. The perfect getaway. The type of people that go there are all lovely, friendly, outdoor types, and it was great hearing kids playing ping pong or families cooking dinner, having a chat, or reading on the couch. There's enough space that if you want your own space, you can find a peaceful nook, but if you want to interact, the opportunity is there. It feels like home and everyone felt like family (without the drama haha).
