Description
Meester se Huis is a cosy self-catering guest cottage located on La Manzi – Bergplaas, a working fruit and cattle farm nestled in the Klein Swartberge near Route 62. Surrounded by mountain views, orchards, and natural fynbos vegetation, this peaceful countryside retreat offers guests an authentic farm stay experience within the heart of the Klein Karoo. The property is ideally suited to nature lovers, couples, small families, mountain bikers, and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a quiet escape surrounded by natural beauty.
The cottage accommodates up to 4 guests and comprises 1 bedroom furnished with a queen-size bed, as well as a sleeper couch in the living area suitable for 2 children or 1 adult. The bathroom is fitted with a spacious walk-in shower and a deep bath. Linen and bath towels are provided.
The open-plan living area includes a fully equipped kitchen fitted with a fridge, stovetop, oven, kettle, and essential self-catering appliances and utensils. The lounge area features an indoor fireplace for cooler evenings and opens onto an outdoor braai area with seating and views of the surrounding mountains.
Guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities on the farm, including hiking, mountain biking, 4x4 routes, birdwatching, and stargazing. Depending on the season, guests may also observe daily fruit farming and cattle farming activities. The farm produces apples, pears, apricots, and peaches for export.
Meester se Huis is located a short distance from Seweweekspoort and is well positioned for day trips to the Swartberg Pass and the Cango Caves.
Please note that access to the cottage requires a vehicle with a minimum ground clearance of approximately 20 cm. SUVs, bakkies, and similar vehicles are recommended, while low-profile vehicles may not be suitable for the access road.
