Merci Dieu Country Cottage is a peaceful farm stay retreat situated on a working farm, offering guests a relaxing countryside escape surrounded by rolling fields, dams, and scenic natural surroundings. The property combines the charm of country living with modern comforts, while remaining within easy reach of nearby towns and amenities.
The home can accommodate up to 10 guests and comprises 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, while the second bedroom contains 1 single bed and a bunk bed. The third bedroom is furnished with 2 single beds. These 3 bedrooms share a full bathroom. The fourth bedroom forms part of a flatlet connected to the main house via an interleading door into the dining room, making it very much part of the home while still offering added privacy. The flatlet comprises a bedroom furnished with a queen-size bed, a full en-suite bathroom, and a living area with a single bed. The flatlet also includes a kitchenette equipped with a kettle, toaster, and bar fridge.
The fully equipped kitchen in the main house contains a gas stove, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and additional heat-and-eat amenities. Living spaces throughout the property offer comfortable seating, a fireplace, a Smart TV with full DStv, complimentary Wi-Fi, books, board games, and table tennis for entertainment. Bath towels, bed linen, heated towel rails, hairdryers, dressing tables, wardrobe space, cleaning products, extra pillows and blankets, ironing facilities, and washing amenities are provided for guest convenience. The listed facilities and amenities apply to both the main house and the flatlet.
Guests can enjoy access to the beautiful garden, outdoor dining areas, patio spaces, firepit, communal braai facilities, and scenic lake surroundings during their stay. On-site activities include bush walks, fishing on a catch-and-release basis, and access to a tennis court, while nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking trails. Pets are welcome by arrangement, while meals, drinks, cleaning services, and commercial photography or filming can be arranged on request.
