Merwespont River Life Guest Farm is situated on a working farm along the Breede River just outside Bonnievale. The guest farm offers self-catering accommodation suited to family weekends, business stays, school and sports groups, team gatherings, reunions, celebrations and relaxed farm-style weddings. Guests have access to the river, open farm spaces and a peaceful farm atmosphere. The property is pet friendly.
The Wyntenke accommodates up to 20 guests and comprises 6 bedrooms, including 5 en-suite bedrooms and 2 large loft rooms that share 1 bathroom and 1 additional toilet. The unit has a total of 8 toilets, 6 showers and 1 bathroom. The farmhouse features 2 fully equipped kitchens, a large braai and entertainment area with an indoor fireplace, a smart TV with Netflix, unlimited Wi-Fi, and an open-plan TV lounge and living area.
Snoozer's Cottage comprises 2 bedrooms and 3 budget rooms that share 2 bathrooms. The cottage is booked privately and includes an open-plan living area, a fully equipped kitchen, smart TVs with Netflix, unlimited Wi-Fi and a washing machine. The Langhuis and Annex offer practical accommodation for contractors and work teams and are equipped with kitchen facilities, braai facilities, unlimited Wi-Fi, washing machines, DStv and Netflix.
Facilities on the property include braai areas, lawns, access to the river within walking distance, farm walking trails, cycling routes and private entertainment spaces. Guests can enjoy swimming, fishing, canoeing, birdwatching, sunsets along the riverbanks and relaxing beside indoor fireplaces.
The property is located within 20 km of Bonnievale and the surrounding Breede River Valley, where guests can explore wine farms, cycling routes, river activities and local farm experiences. The remains of Die Houthuis, originally built in 1967 as the first guest house in Bonnievale, can still be viewed after the structure was destroyed during the 2026 Breede River floods.
