Description
Myrtle Grove offers a peaceful retreat on a picturesque farm about 15 km outside George, near the coastal towns of Glentana, Hartenbos, and Mossel Bay. The area is known for its mild climate, golden beaches, and a rich variety of natural, cultural, and historical attractions.
Accommodation is provided in the cosy farmhouse, ideal for families or friends looking to relax together. The first bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom also has a double bed, while the third bedroom has 2 single beds. There is a separate single bathroom with a toilet, and another with a bath and toilet.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a fridge, stove, oven, and microwave. Please note that the farmhouse uses natural borehole water, which may appear slightly yellow-brown due to plant roots. It is safe to drink, but it may not suit everyone’s taste. We recommend enjoying the fresh rainwater from the storage tank next to the main farmhouse or bringing your preferred beverages.
Wild animals, including monkeys, sometimes visit – please ensure your belongings are safely stored and windows are closed if no one is at the house. Guests are welcome to feed Tjop, our not-so-small Potbelly pig, who stays by the small dam at the entrance. There is no swimming pool, but guests may swim in the dam or enjoy light catch-and-release fishing.
Guests can also walk or picnic in the small bush area or along the stream, just keep an eye out for natural residents such as snakes or spiders. Please drive slowly, as the farm is shared with both animals and children.
