Description
Ons Klein Huisie is an authentic rural self-catering cottage situated at the foot of the Riviersonderend Mountains in the small farming village of Bereaville, approximately 10 km from Greyton in the Western Cape.
Surrounded by nature, the cottage offers a rustic countryside experience ideal for laid-back travellers, artists, hikers, cyclists, birdwatchers, and animal lovers seeking a peaceful escape.
The cottage accommodates up to 3 guests and comprises 1 bedroom, a small loft area, and 1 bathroom. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed, while the loft area contains a single bed suitable for a child older than 10 years. The newly renovated bathroom is fitted with a spacious shower and washbasin with hot water. A separate outhouse with a flushing toilet is located just behind the cottage.
The open-plan living area features a kitchenette equipped with a 2-plate gas stove, air fryer, Queen Anne wood-burning stove, and full-sized fridge-freezer. Guests can also enjoy a dining area, comfortable couch, desk, and reading nook, creating a relaxed and homely indoor space.
Outside, guests have access to a private braai area with seating overlooking the valley, as well as a small enclosed front garden. Secure off-street parking is available behind locked gates. Free WiFi is provided, although mobile reception in the area may be limited.
The owner lives on the property with cats and 4 dogs, which roam freely throughout the property except for the cottage’s enclosed private garden. Friendly resident cats may occasionally visit guests at the cottage.
Please note that the cottage is situated within a working rural farming village where gravel roads, free-roaming livestock, and a close-knit local community form part of the authentic countryside setting. Church bells ring on Sundays, and occasional music from neighbouring homes may be heard.
Greyton is located nearby and offers a variety of restaurants, art galleries, shops, and popular weekly markets.
