Platrand Lodge is set on a 3,680-hectare fully fenced game farm, Fourie’s Kraal, in a malaria-free area just 5 km from Ladysmith in KwaZulu-Natal. The lodge is 14 km from the N3, and is just 2 hours from Durban and 3 hours from Johannesburg.
Constructed in the style of the colonial era with long overhanging roofs and generous verandahs, and set in an enchanting valley, Platrand Lodge has so much to offer from luxury accommodation to conference and wedding facilities with impressive views and friendly service.
The on-site Colonial Restaurant caters for most palates, with a menu that boasts everything from good old red meat to something from the deep blue, you are sure to find something you fancy. You can choose to cosy up inside, or enjoy a late afternoon sundowner on the verandah while waiting for your food.
If you are waiting for your company or partner to arrive, or would just like to unwind before your meal, you can take a seat in our Victorian lounge and lose yourself in a good book or sip on your choice of drink to work up an appetite. We have various books available in the lounge at our guests’ disposal.
