My appeal to guests that stay at any establishment - please, please report each and every problem to reception, the owners, or the booking platform you booked through when you experience the problem.
Hosts cannot immediately sort out a problem for a guest if they only find out there was a problem when they read a review a week after the guest has left.
We were in constant communication with this guest regarding the water pump issue; no other issues were ever reported.
The roof did not leak. Had the guest notified us that his suitcase was wet when it happened, we would have immediately picked up that there was a leaking pipe behind the cabin.
Instead, we wasted valuable days and spent thousands replacing flow switches and water pumps trying to find a solution for why the water pump switched off every time they showered, finally discovering that a pipe encased in concrete behind the cabin was leaking. This was chopped out and replaced immediately, solving the problem.
Faulty kettle - we keep two new kettles on site at all times.
Ants - there is a can of Doom and an ant trap in each cabin; we are in the midst of a drought, and ants are looking for food. We warn guests to please not leave food out.
Smell of rotting leaves - we cannot find any smell in the cabin. We then called the guests that stayed before and after this guest and asked their opinion; they also did not experience any smell. It must be noted that this cabin is in the forest.
