Incredibly beautiful, peaceful, neat and clean. It is very well looked after. It was truly incredible. My partner and I went here to disconnect from city life and it did not disappoint! For anyone wondering - there is signal, the bathroom is close to the sites and they operate on a gas geyser so there is always hot water. The sites are close to the river and we slept very nicely hearing it the whole night. It gets very cold but the cabin makes it very cosy. They prepared everything for us in the cabin and outside the cabin was very clean. They provided us with a remote panic button and a key for the cabin's padlock which made us feel very safe, but honestly - we left our door open most of the time because of how safe it was. The workers there are very friendly when you run into them, especially Edward who welcomed us and showed us around. The Spar and the garage are not far from Poplar Grove, and they have a variety of things to buy. The river is clean and you are allowed to swim in it. We honestly loved the privacy and it is a great place for couples, especially if you want to reconnect. We will definitely be going back. We highly recommend this place, it is truly worth the money and the drive and is a very sweet hostess. Don't miss out on this beautiful place!

Serene. Freeing. Idyllic. Calm down. nice My stay at Poplar Grove was so comforting. I work a busy life and needed a momentary break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Staying here allowed me to unfurl so much of my stress and pressures. I could cradle and hold myself as a young adult and be reminded of how beautiful life is if I'm just willing to look outside of me. This is a haven for couples, families, trained doggies, or even a solo location. I highly recommend saying yes to visiting this part of the South African countryside - even just for a day. To future visitors, be prepared, aware of your surroundings, and oh yes! Stargaze, my darling, look up at the universe. Delight yourself in its beauty.

Very beautiful, very plain and very rustic, loved it. The setting is absolutely beautiful, peaceful and very close to nature. We loved it. The ablutions are very clean and neat; however, as it runs on solar, if very overcast, there is an issue with the water pressure. However, you must note that everything is off the grid, so expected. The sites are set in beautiful surroundings, and one site is fenced off, which allowed our doggies to roam free. The only complaint I have is that other campers should be told to keep their pets to themselves, as we had the neighbours' dogs by us constantly. The sites get very muddy with the morning dew, and I think it would be very uncomfortable if it did rain a lot. But overall, we loved it.
