Prima Rosa is a colonial house in Hartbeesfontein with a focus on art, history and hospitality. It’s a magical place of restfulness and stories to tell. Both the owners are artists and guests are taken on a journey of old-world splendour reminiscent of Karen Blixen's home in the movie, Out of Africa.
Prima Rosa Historical Guest House was built in 1903 during the Anglo-Boer War. It is furnished with wooden floors, pressed ceilings, antique light fittings, an exquisite porcelain collection, and décor with an emphasis on Africana. The house has 2 bedrooms consisting of a double room with an en-suite bathroom, and an upstairs double room with inter-leading doors to a twin room (great for a family) and open plan bathroom. The bathrooms are fitted with large baths and antique copper and gold pipes.
All meals are optional and should be arranged prior to booking. Prima Rosa can be a magical experience when visiting this unusual gem of the North West.
