Description
Protea Wilds Retreat is conveniently located halfway between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, offering easy access to the many attractions in the surrounding area. The property is set in a peaceful natural environment, ideal for groups, families, and outdoor enthusiasts, with direct access to walking and cycling trails. The secure property is controlled with a safety gate and CCTV.
Accommodation is offered in 1 house and 6 studio units, sleeping a total of 18 guests. Units can be booked individually or as a group. Each unit includes comfortable bedding, a bathroom with a shower, a kitchenette, a stoep, and a deck with seating and beautiful views. Extra blankets and fans are provided in all units.
Guests have access to a communal Fynbos area 10 to 30 metres from the units. This area features a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious dining and breakfast area with a wood stove, a lounge with a fireplace, and a TV with DStv. Additional amenities include a swimming pool, braai facilities, Wi-Fi, and secure parking. Breakfast is not provided; the retreat is self-catering.
The Bitou Valley House accommodates 6 guests and is set on a cliff with views of the Bitou Valley. It features 3 bedrooms, including a main bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. The other 2 bedrooms share a full bathroom and a separate toilet. The fully equipped kitchen opens onto a stoep with a braai area and shaded seating. The house also has a fireplace for winter and fans for summer. Private parking is available.
The retreat is close to numerous activities, including birdwatching, wine tasting, local farm stalls, forest and coastal hikes, mountain biking, and beaches. Nearby attractions within 15 km include Knysna Ziplines, Adventure Land Waterpark, Knysna Elephant Park, Luka Vineyards, and Harkerville Saturday Market. Plettenberg Bay attractions such as Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary, and several wine estates are also easily accessible.
